Thanks to you and your little fuck-up, I got up at 6:15 A.M., and I'm spending the HP-release day with my brain on Overdrive-Lawyer-Mode, with spoilers on every side, just waiting to strike.
Those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, take a look at this post by

Now, I'm no law-school-graduate, but if you ask me, this seems more than a little...how to say..."conspiratorial"? As others have pointed out, this news was put in
lj_biz, instead of the "main" News-page, right when much of the Harry Potter-fandom (One of the most-affected groups) is off-line, for fear of spoilers. And, in their update, they say something about "unacceptable" material being a "rare" occurence-- Well, if you ask me, why the hell would one take such drastic measure for such a "rare" problem, if they didn't, fact, feel that this really *WASN'T* so "rare", and is, instead, something that is happening in large amounts, enough to cause worry?
I remember something much like this happening on deviantART a few years back, but there were certain things that dA did to save themselves, that L.J. has yet to do. Most prodominately, deviantART has never tolerated anything "explicit", so they were, in reality, just re-enforcing an already-existing rule, that wasn't being followed. LiveJournal has never had such a policy. Moreover, dA learned that being direct will save their asses. L.J. continues to be vague like nothing else. Please, L.J., have yourselves some common sense: We're not all bumbling little hormonal teenagers who can't see through your attempted-law-jargon. Many of us are more than capable of understanding. Hell, many of us are old enough to kick your verbal little butts. So open your eyes and see the real world: Twelve-year-olds are having sex everywhere. High-schoolers are smutting it up in the back-seats of their cars. Pregnant teenagers are everywhere. After looking at the real-world, don't you think that it's *JUST* a bit...what's the word I'm looking for, here? ...oh, right...
STUPID
to try and stop people from WRITING about FICTIONAL teenagers having sex? Oh, wait, you want us to be PUBLISHED authors before we can do that.
HAH.
As if there wasn't already enough smut on the bookshelves at Barnes & Noble.
Hell, I've yet to read a PUBLISHED novel with sex that's better than some of the NC-17 fanfics around here.
L.J., don't do this to yourselves. By being vague and beating around the bush, you're just hurting yourselves. Don't drag this on so long that, by the time you're ready to cooperate, we'll have a "Guilty" decision from the Jury ready for you with an Opening Statement of "The Prosecution rests.".
...will add more when I'm actually awake.
SPREAD THE WORD, PEOPLE-- SPREAD THE WORD!!!!
